The Harambee Interactive Expo (HIE) is a multidisciplinary platform that utilizes film, events, and 8 technologies to bring awareness of modern and creative ways to train the Black community.  For every one actor or actress standing in front of the camera, there are 100's of film and business professionals behind the eye of camera.  Likewise in the top 40 most lucrative industries, the technologies of the future are dominating the highest paying careers and most lucrative new businesses. The black community currently only makes up 4 percent of small businesses using STEM during a time when technology training is absolutely necessary to survive and thrive. Harambee Interactive Expo (HIE) invites you to choose your tracks and showcase the most dynamic technologies that will shape the future for our children while bringing training awareness and media literacy for everyone.

The layout and setup of the 1st Annual Harambee Interactive Expo can best be explained as an intermixture of “technology tribes”.  The architecture of each tribe is based on the sponsorship level, lounge sizes, actions by children as startups/enterprises, and longevity.

Secureitz, one of the expo participants, will virtually assist our sponsors and startups during the months leading up to the Harambee-IE as well as provide services afterward for a total time of one year. In this approach, Harambee-IE can continue to grow and reach the mark of being the best destination for storytelling and events associated with film technologies. One of our major efforts is to assist in promoting the villages for our sponsors.  Below are some EXAMPLE ideas for images and products to stimulate designs and layout to be used during Harambee-IE.

In 1910, D.W. Griffith coined the phrase “Lights, Camera, and Action” as specific commands to three essential factions of a moment in film. Similiarly, Harambee-IE represents one of the three essential divisions of Harambee - festival, institute, interactive. Harambee-IE focuses more deeply on the CAMERA area associated with the trichotomy of FILM and media.  This section is used to provide an EXAMPLE of media that may stimulate deeper connections and ideas for media used at Harambee-IE.

Track #10:  Kiosks Development

There are many tools that can be used for streaming statistics and comments ranging from social media to phone devices.  These streaming softwares and devices may be incorporated into the Harambee-IE environmnets through various forms of large-scale digital signage.  This section serves two objectives: (1) to present brief and simple EXAMPLES of comments from visitors to Harambee-IE; and (2) to remind our sponsors of the importance of streaming on signage and social media platforms.
